Serikandi opens in Bandar

The well reknown Serikandi has finally open its branch here in Bandar, in Kiulap Area to be exact.

For those who have not heard of Serikandi, the business was started by our grandmother, Miss Sharifah Maimunah Syed Al Saggof way back in the early 1970's with the vision to increase the family income to help her husband, Sheikh Ahmad Syed Said where it all started from selling different traditional malay cakes, where it encouraged them to make it a full fledge business by starting out as canteen operators in one of the government buildings in Kuala Belait.

From there onwards, the business grew and became a restaurant in 1987 starting in Brunei Shell Recreation Club, where it then became Brunei Shells supplier of dishes, especially one latest venture which was only lastyear where Serikandi became the caterers for Brunei Shell's oil rigs.

Also not forgetting the base restaurant that was built in 1997, located in Kuala Belait just opposite the Kuala Belait Land Transport.

And now, the 1st branch of the many bandarians who missed the taste of the Serikandi Rendang, Nasi Briyani and so on is now available here in bandar, at kiulap near to Sweet Deli Bakery, Netzone and Spring Harvest Florist.

Its soft opening was on the 15th of January 2009, just recently where we were invited by Mr Arab Family for 'tahlil' to help start off the restaurant
