King Joe's Birthday Celebration

On Sunday, the 31st of May,

For our country, Brunei Darussalam, we celebrated the birthday of the Army, whereby it was born on the 31st of May 1961, which I have also need to point out is the birth of our beloved father & husband, Mr King Joe...who has also joined the army at the age of 18...

So with the day coming, we had a surprise cake ready for him in the early morning of Sunday...

P.S. time is at 7am...

After having a quick taste of the blue berry cheese cake, we got ready to go for our weekend get away...

We then set off just around 8am, where the celebrations at the Royal Brunei Air Force at Rimba Area was about to kick off..

Billboard just outside the RBAF,

Our roadtrip took us to the border, where we planned on a one night stay in Miri, Sabah. With our place of rest being the Marriot Resort & Spa.

Upon arriving at the hotel, we then went to the front desk to check in....

While awaiting for our rooms to be readied, we went to the rear area of the resort to view the seaside view...

Once done, we then collect our room keys & proceeded to our rooms to keep our things before heading out again...

After checking the rooms & freshen up, we then immediately left for Parkson which is still under renovation....

First stop was having a short rest drinking at the San Francisco Coffee...

After our short rest, we then went on some window shopping & buying a few items...Where just around 6pm, we then left for Marriot Resort to watch the sunsetting in Miri....but to our dissapointment, there was no sunset, as the clouds were blocking the sun....Though I did get a few beautiful shots....hope you enjoy...

the access card to the rooms..

A few sand paintings on display along the corridor to the lift area.....

Resting for a while in the room, Lady Rider & King Joe

Where around 7.30, after freshening up, we then went out to Parkson for some shopping before having our dinner..& below both freaky & princess, were having a photoshoot in a changing room while myself was trying out some clothes & jeans...

At around 10.30pm, we then went to search for a place to eat, though we were hoping to find a seafood centre still opened, we found this cosy & Kampung style restaurant not far behind Parkson, Sajian Warisan....

We ordered...

Honey Chicken

Butter Prawn

Black Pepper Beef

Fried Rice with Chicken

Japanese Tauhu cooked in oyster sauce

Kway Teow Mamak Daging

From my view, the Sajian Warisan is a place where you would like to relax & have a different type of scenery & enjoying great food, I have to compliment on the butter prawn & the japanese tauhu as it was the best dishes which all of us enjoyed...We then went for a bit of sight seeing, whereby we only reached the resort around 12am...

The next day, the 1st of June, Myself & freaky woke up at 5am, trying to catch the sunrise only to be dissapointed again due to the clouds blocking the sun rising that early morning...but I got a few nice shots of the area...

By the time we finish the photoshoot, it was almost 7, where myself & freaky went to their gym to work out for a while before joining our parents & princess in the swimming pool...

After having our swim, we then got ourselves ready to go out for breakfast...where we went to Kaya & Toast which is located in the city centre of Miri, not far from Imperial Mall...

It is a place to have a light & different type of breakfast with for my opinion is something that I look forward to go to again the next time around..where after having our breakfast we then went to imperial mall for some shopping before packing our things & checking out from the resort...

After checking out of the resort roughly around 1pm we then went for some lunch at the Banana Leaf Rice Restaurant & Cafe...& well you have to see it to beleive it...as the rice was fantastic as although we were part full from breakfast...our plates or should I say banana leaf plate was clean as the food was fantastic...It is located not far from parkson & M2...

We then left for our last shopping destination, the new Parkson again...as this place is where we enjoy great sales, the lowest pricests & also lots and lots of new shops in one place where you wont find any other place...

Myself & freaky got ourselves Hardstyle Republic T-shirts...(shuffle team)

At that time, there was also a wedding exhibition...

This is a scale model of the new Parkson which is still under renovations...

around 6pm we left the shopping complex & headed home only to reach home around 9pm due to the queue at the border & also the Swine Flu inspection at the border...with that I hope you have enjoyed our trip with us...Cheers~
